Most Frequently Asked Questions

  • Courses like Payroll Accounting, Taxation and Data Analytics on Excel are offered 4 times a year, while Accounting Essentials, Data Analytics on PowerBI and QuickBooks Online are offered 3 times a year. The rest of the courses including Cybersecurity, Project Management, Digital Marketing, Sage, Management Accounting and Intermediate courses are offered twice a year.

  • Yes, you will as long as you attend at least 90% of the classes and complete the assessments successfully. If you are sick or have an emergency, please email your instructor in advance to let them know.

  • Course materials and software are provided with the course fees.

  • We have early bird discounts for all courses if you register early.

    Yes, there is a discount if a student takes a multiple courses.

    There is also a discount if a student refers another person to take the courses.

    We also give organizational discounts if you refer 6 or more students to take the courses.

  • Yes, it is issued at the beginning of the following year (for instance if you take a course in 2026, you can expect a tax letter in early 2027). To qualify, the fees must be more than $100.

  • Clients may cancel their registration before they are halfway through a course. Unfortunately, we cannot issue refunds if a client has taken more than 50% of the course. Refunds will be issued on a pro-rated basis, taking into account the unattended portion of the course.  Refund amount will be calculated based on the percentage of the course duration that remains unused at the time of cancellation.  

    Refunds cannot be issued for a course credit provided. You would need to take another course of the same equivalency in cost or transfer it to another student.

    Refunds cannot be issued after the fiscal year is complete (March 31). For instance, if you paid for a course in January and asked to be moved to a cohort in May, we cannot refund you if you are unable to attend, but you can take the same course at a later date.

    • Refund requests must be submitted in writing to cssupport@skillsforchange.org.  

    • The request must include the reason for the refund.

    • Refunds will only be considered for the following reasons:

      • The client has experienced a technical issue preventing access to the course and the issue cannot be resolved within a reasonable time. 

      • The client is dissatisfied with the course.  The client must submit a refund request stating their dissatisfaction after the first class. Refund request will not be accepted after the client attends the second scheduled class.  

      • The client experiences a medical and/or family crisis. 

      • The client’s schedule conflicts with the date and time of the course.

    • Upon approval of a refund request, the refund will be processed within 7 – 14 business days.

    • Refunds will be issued through original payment method.

  • The Career Skills program is designed to be instructor-led rather than self-paced, so not all classes are recorded. Recordings are only provided in exceptional circumstances, such as when a participant is ill or experiencing an emergency.

    Please note that regular attendance is a program requirement, and a minimum of 80% attendance is necessary to be eligible for a certificate from Skills for Change.

*Skills for Change reserves the right to cancel a course at any time. In such cases, participants will be notified, and a full refund will be issued. Skills for Change reserves the right to postpone a course at any time.  In such cases, participants will be notified, and the full course will resume on the tentative postponed date.
