Career Skills

Career Skills is a Skills for Change department established in 1998. This department offers affordable and convenient courses for upskilling, career advancement, and business growth. Career Skills has hands-on courses, led by top instructors in a small group model.

In a few weekly sessions, you can successfully ramp up your skills and knowledge, gain practical experience, overcame career advancement challenges, or keep up with the latest industry trends.   • Yes, you will as long as you attend at least 80% of the classes.

  • Please note that for all our courses, we welcome auditing students. Provided there is space available in the first class, undecided students may join the first half of class to observe. Please contact us to schedule in advance.

  • Course materials are offered with the course fees. You might need to pay a small fee to access the software or platform needed for some of the courses.

  • Yes, there is a 10% discount if a student takes a second course. There is also a 10% discount if a student refers another person to take the courses.

  • Yes, but to qualify, the fees must be more than $100 a year.

Career Skills Refund Policy

    • Clients may cancel their registration for a course at any time.  Refunds will be issued on a pro-rata basis, taking into account the unattended portion of the course.  Refund amount will be calculated based on the percentage of the course duration that remains unused at the time of cancellation.  

      • Example: If a client requests a refund halfway through a course, the refund amount will cover the unused half of the month.  

    • Transaction fees (E.g., Eventbrite fees, etc.) will not be refunded. 

    • Refund requests must be submitted in writing to cssupport@skillsforchange.org.  

    • The request must include the reason for the refund.

    • Refunds will only be considered for the following reasons:

      • The client has experienced a technical issue preventing access to the course and the issue cannot be resolved within a reasonable time. 

      • The client is dissatisfied with the course.  The client must submit a refund request stating their dissatisfaction after the first class. Refund request will not be accepted after the client attends the second scheduled class.  

      • The client experiences a medial and/or family crisis. 

      • The client’s schedule conflicts with the date and time of the course.

    • Upon approval of a refund request, the refund will be processed within 7 – 14 business days.

    • Refunds will be issued through original payment method or Electronic Funds Transfer or filing other methods by cheque.   

  • Skills for Change reserves the right to cancel a course at any time. In such cases, participants will be notified, and a full refund will be issued.

  • Skills for Change reserves the right to postpone a course at any time.  In such cases, participants will be notified, and the full course will resume on the tentative postponement date.
