The "Data Analytics on MS Power BI" course is designed to empower you on your data analytics journey. It aims to equip you with the skills needed to process and analyze large-scale data and to effectively communicate the stories behind that data through immersive reports, visualizations, and dashboards in MS Power BI.

This five-week course, composed of five modules, primarily covers the following topics: data cleansing, transformation, data wrangling and modeling with Power BI Desktop (exploring key technologies such as Power Query and Power Pivot), and data reporting, visualization, dashboard creation, and sharing with Power BI Service.

    Learning Outcomes:

    On successful completion of this course, learners will be able to

    1. Access various data sources using Power BI Desktop and Service

    2. Perform data cleaning, preparation, and transformation with Power Query in Power BI Desktop

    3. Build immersive and insightful visualizations in Power BI Desktop

    4. Perform data modelling by linking disparate data sources together with Power Pivot in Power BI Desktop

    5. Build immersive and insightful reports, visualizations and dashboards with Power BI Service

    6. Share and collaborate with others through Power BI Service

    • Ability to speak, understand and write in English (CLB6).

    • Beginner level knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required.

    • Satisfactory completion of Data Analytics on MS Excel course is highly recommended.

  • 1. Software

    • Windows 8.1 or later

    • Power BI Desktop: learners will learn how to install it on their computer during the course

    • Power BI Service / Power BI Pro (free or licensed version)

    2. Hardware:

    • 2 GB of RAM (minimum)

    • CPU: 1 GHZ or faster (64-bit processor).

    Please note that the PowerBI Desktop software does not work well on Mac computers
