Skills for Change 2025 Annual General Meeting: Reflecting on a Year of Growth and Innovation




On the evening of September 17, 2025, Skills for Change hosted its Annual General Meeting at Accenture’s Scotia plaza offices, generously sponsored by Accenture. The event brought together board members, staff, and community members to celebrate a year of significant accomplishments.
The evening began with a warm welcome from Azim Lila, Chair of the Board, who set a reflective and positive tone for the evening. The main presentation was delivered by Surranna Sandy, the CEO of Skills for Change, who reflected on the many milestones achieved throughout 2024 - 2025. Surranna highlighted the growth in key areas, including continued efforts of the Women in Skilled Trades program and our AI Upskilling program in partnership with Google.org.
She also emphasized the continued success of our community programs, which engaged over 1,200 participants, and the establishment of our Fund Development team, which has strengthened our financial sustainability.
Surranna also touched on areas of improvement and how SFC plans to build on this momentum in the coming year. The meeting concluded on a high note, celebrating the collective efforts that have driven Skills for Change forward.
