What is a Zine?
A Zine (short for “Magazine” or “Fanzine”) is an independent publication that is typically about a topic or issue that the author(s) care deeply about. They are usually distributed within the community, are made by small groups, and are a low-budget way to share stories and information.
During the NYLP, the cohort will come together to decide on the theme, topics, format, and content of the Zine. The Zine will then be published online to share with the public!
This is an opportunity for newcomer youth to make their voices heard and share their stories. Apply today, and be part of the movement that empowers newcomer youth in Canada!
