Ubuntu in Dementia Care

A Support Program for Black Family Caregivers

About

An 8-session hybrid wellness & education program tailored for Black families in the GTA & Scarborough impacted by dementia. The program offers a culturally affirming space for connection, learning, & healing.

Why “Ubuntu”?

At the heart of this program is the African philosophy of Ubuntu, meaning:
"I am because we are."

Ubuntu speaks to the power of community, interconnection, and shared humanity. It reminds us that no one should have to struggle alone—and that healing, strength, and wisdom are built together.

Our goal is to create a safe, affirming space where participants can learn, connect, and recharge—guided by

Black professionals and community leaders who truly understand their realities.
