Celebrating the Success of the Women in Skilled Trades - BC Roadshow 2025

On May 14, 2025, Skills for Change proudly hosted the Women in Skilled Trades Roadshow in Surrey, BC, an inspiring day dedicated to advancing equity and opportunity for women in the skilled trades.

The event brought together over 100 newcomer women, industry leaders, and community partners for a powerful exchange of stories, strategies, and solutions. Through engaging keynotes, thoughtful panel discussions, and dynamic conversations, participants explored the realities of entering and thriving in traditionally male-dominated industries.

Speakers highlighted the importance of mentorship, early education, and flexible supports for women, particularly those balancing career aspirations with caregiving responsibilities. Conversations centered around leadership, mental wellness, and building inclusive workplaces that reflect the diversity of our communities.

The enthusiasm and engagement from attendees underscored a growing movement toward a more inclusive skilled trades sector, one where women are not just welcomed but empowered to lead.

We’re grateful to our dedicated partners and supporters for helping make the BC Roadshow a success. Together, we’re shaping a future where skilled trades are a first choice for all.
