HOURS: 5 hours/week on Saturdays
RATE: $30.00/hr

END DATE: March 29, 2024

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:
With 38 years of operations, Skills for Change is a highly respected non-profit charity with a province-wide reputation for pioneering programs that respond to shifting immigration and workplace trends and lead to employment. We offer a range of accelerated programs including mentoring, employment, settlement, language training together with specialized programs for skilled trades, women, and youth. We have 5 locations across the GTA and serve 16,000 clients annually.
PROGRAM NATURE AND SCOPE:
This is an accelerated training course in QuickBooks Online software. The chosen candidate should have expertise in QuickBooks Online 2020. The QuickBooks Online instructor is responsible for providing a course that outlines company set-up in QuickBooks, QuickBooks navigation, and essential accounting processes in QuickBooks.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Deliver instruction on essential accounting concepts (etc. income statements, transaction entries, etc.) and how to use QuickBooks Online.
Be responsible for classroom and online setup, which includes setting up computers and instruction material to include providing online access codes to students
Prepare student evaluations to include performance and learning deficiencies
Conduct student counseling and recommend corrective action to ensure acceptable student performance
Utilize curriculum that reflect the diverse educational, cultural and linguistic backgrounds of the course participants
Develop and maintain an approved program of professional self-development
Prepare and revise course outlines, develop curriculum and develop alternate delivery systems for courses where appropriate
Update and assess student learning outcomes and develop appropriate assessment instruments
Work with program coordinators to ensure initiatives are being met
Provide tutoring and review sessions for students from time-to-time classroom
Utilize curriculum that reflects the diverse educational, cultural and linguistic backgrounds of the course participants
Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
University degree in related fields
Proficient knowledge of QuickBooks 2020
Must have at least 2-10 yrs experience in adult teaching/facilitation
Demonstrated commitment to professional self-development
Experience conducting course level assessment of student learning outcomes, and analyzing relevant data, and utilizing the results to improve instruction
Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, both oral and written
Sensitivity to and understanding of issues of concern to immigrants and refugees.
Initiative, energy, and persistence in completing assignments
