December 7, 2023

Skills for Change and Talent Beyond Boundaries (TBB) have joined forces in a partnership aimed at harnessing the talents of skilled refugees and displaced individuals worldwide, taking a step towards fostering more inclusive employment opportunities

Innovative Approach to Global Labour Challenges

TBB, known for opening international employment pathways for skilled refugees, joins forces with Skills for Change, a leading organization in supporting immigrants and refugees through a wide array of programs and services. This collaboration aims to fill talent gaps while fostering equitable and inclusive communities.

Collaboration Highlights

TBB's expertise in facilitating international employment for skilled refugees will be complemented by Skills for Change's comprehensive support programs for immigrants and refugees. The partnership will focus on providing labor mobility as an additional solution to resettlement and humanitarian pathways, recognizing the critical need for access to durable solutions for displaced people. Skills for Change and TBB will work to organize webinars and other initiatives, focusing on employer education and connecting them to a pool of skilled refugees through the Federal government's Economic Mobility Pathways Pilot (EMPP). Additionally, the two organizations will provide wrap-around support to these refugee clients and their families, with a focus on settlement and mental health

"We are thrilled to partner with Talent Beyond Boundaries," said Surranna Sandy, CEO of Skills for Change." This partnership represents a fusion of shared values and a united effort to unlock the potential of skilled refugees. Together, we're not just filling global talent gaps; we're advocating for a world where every individual, irrespective of their background, has the opportunity to thrive and contribute their skills."

“Skills for Change has a rich history of supporting newcomers to succeed here in Canada,” said Lara Dyer, Canada Director for Talent Beyond Boundaries. “By partnering together, TBB and Skills for Change will ensure that skilled refugees receive end-to-end support for their migration journey, and can hit the ground running both in their new jobs and in their new communities.”

This collaboration is not just about immediate impact but also about long-term sustainable change, with a goal of enhancing labour mobility programming, globally. Through this partnership, TBB and Skills for Change are not only addressing the immediate needs of displaced individuals but are also contributing to a broader movement towards a more inclusive, equitable world where every individual's skills and talent are recognized and valued.
