Business Writing
Business Writing explains how to prepare content that develops the ideas and strategy of business, whether it is an email, report, press release, or white paper. Specifically, this course explains how to identify the skills to address good business writing and how clients might use those skills; how to sequence and present the content, and how to review with other stakeholders.
This course emphasizes a systematic process for preparing business writing as well as the theories and principles of effective writing. Working on a real-world-like project, you directly engage in the process and prepare content for publishing and distribution.
This course is designed to develop the skills, knowledge, and attitudes you will need to apply these competencies in schools, universities, workplaces, and your community.

Week 1: Plan and prepare for successful writing
Week 2: Formatting and presenting content
Week 3: Writing clear and concise content
Week 4: Sharing your work
Week 5: Publishing your work
Learning Outcomes:1. Describe the role of business writing.
2. Prepare design plans for approval by the sponsor of the program
3. Describe applications of business writing in the following settings: workplace, community, university
4. Develop awareness of professional practice in business writing
Course evaluation:
It will be a mixture of in-class, take home assignments and a final cumulative project. The in-class and take-home assignments are formative assessments (not assessed or graded).
