Skills for Change Relaunches the Career Skills Social Enterprise Program
to Support Career Training and Growth.
Toronto, ON, April 18, 2023 – Skills for Change, a Toronto-based nonprofit organization focused on helping newcomers and underserved communities thrive in the Canadian workforce, is pleased to announce the relaunch of our Career Skills program.
Career Skills is Skills for Change’s social enterprise program that provides job seekers with training and skills development to help them succeed in their career goals at affordable costs.
The NEW Career Skills program will offer a range of programs to job seekers; we will be launching in May with our flagship courses in Accounting, Payroll, QuickBooks, Business Income Tax, SAP and Project Management, and introducing new courses, including in in-design, data science and AI. These programs will also provide training in essential skills, such as communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and digital literacy, that are required for success in any workplace.
“We are excited to relaunch the Career Skills Social Enterprise program and help job seekers find the right training program to become meaningful employed in the Canadian workforce,” said Surranna Sandy, CEO of Skills for Change. “Our Social enterprise plays a crucial role in supporting the mission of our organization and create positive social and environmental impact. In addition, our social enterprise operates in underserved communities, providing jobs and economic opportunities to those who may have been excluded from traditional employment. This leads to a more equitable distribution of wealth and resources, while also addressing social issues such as poverty and unemployment.”
Our Career Skills program will offer a unique opportunity for Skills for Change to make a lasting impact by combining business acumen with social and environmental responsibility. By registering for one of our training programs, we can collectively build a more sustainable and just future for all.
