Welding and Employment Skills Training (WEST): Info Session

Join us for an online info session to learn more about our new Welding and Employment Skills Training (WEST) Program.
Welding and Employment Skills training is a 13-week program offered by Skills for Change, for individuals who are interested in developing their career in a skilled trades sector. Technical training is delivered by CWB at their Milton location.
CWB Welding Qualification Ticket under CSA W47.1 standard for the GMAW, FCAW/MCAW processes upon successful completion and passing all testing requirements.
Skills learned in this course could lead to work, with additional training, within the automotive, transport and or pipe industry.
Once employed there may be opportunities for promotion to welding supervisor or aligned trades such as welding inspection.
Mentoring and work experience placement opportunities to further support the participants to successfully obtain employment in their trade or related to their trade and to integrate into the Canadian workplace.
Laid off at risk or underutilized auto or advanced manufacturing workers transitioning to other roles or sectors within the auto or advanced manufacturing industries.
